Three long distance hikers from the Waterford Scout County are just back from a winter completion of the West Highland Way in Scotland
Well done to Peter Murphy who today completed his final stage of the duo of local long distance walking routes – the East Munster Way and the South Leinster Way.
Well done to Becky Tubritt McEvoy from the 3rd DLS Scouts who came 1st in the Zombie MPC photo comp while Emily Costello from the DLS Venture Scouts came 2nd.
Matt Gaynor from the 7th De La Salle Scouts tells us about the Connacht MPC which took place in the Maumturks, Connemara, Co. Galway last weekend. The weather was magnificent, quite unlike any MPC the team have ever witnessed.

Eoin Falconer (3rd/7th/13th Waterford) and Patrick McDonald (Antrim) have been funded to go and become Youth Spokespersons at a Youth Spokesperson’s Training in Ghent, Belgium from the 4th of July to the 8th of July. The aim of this event is to encourage and enhance a good image of scouting
Two mountaineers from the De La Salle Scout Group have successfully completed the GR20 High Level Route on the mountainous Mediterranean island of Corsica.
The E8 European long distance path is one of the European long-distance paths, leading 4700km across Europe, from West Cork to Istanbul in Turkey. The Irish E8 path which runs from Dursey Head to Dun Laoighre

The De La Salle Scout Group Leadership team were represented by Eoin Kelly (3rd Cubs) and Colm Ennis (3rd Scouts) on a Scottish winter expedition recently. Despite heavy rain and snow, occasional storm force winds and overall properly tough Scottish midwinter conditions, the lads put in an impressive mountaineering performance.
