Matt Gaynor from the 7th De La Salle Scouts tells us about the Connacht MPC which took place in the Maumturks, Connemara, Co. Galway last weekend. The weather was magnificent, quite unlike any MPC the team have ever witnessed.
On Saturday 22nd of September 2012 the 7th De La Salle cubs went to Kilkenny scout den for an over nighter and this is what we got up to.
Leaders from the 3rd and 7th De La Salle Scout troops made their way to Larch Hill this Weekend for Recharge. This was the first time De La Salle had attended this event and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Camp this year brought us to the far away land of Inistioge in the lovely county of Kilkenny. Myself (Tara) and Roddy decided to test the fitness of our scouts and selves by undertaking the 40km cycle to camp. It took slightly longer than expected but we made it there

Eoin Falconer (3rd/7th/13th Waterford) and Patrick McDonald (Antrim) have been funded to go and become Youth Spokespersons at a Youth Spokesperson’s Training in Ghent, Belgium from the 4th of July to the 8th of July. The aim of this event is to encourage and enhance a good image of scouting

A huge congratulations to De La Salle Pipe Band who took 1st in MSR and 2nd in Medley in Lorient Guinness Interceltique Festival Pipe Band competition and also congratulations to the members of the band who played with New Ross and won the World Pipe Band Championships in Grade 4A
We came back in September to embrace an amazing year ahead with our section, we lost some and gained a few new characters within our group which keeps us on our toes.
