World Scout Jamboree 2007 Gallery

Very early on Monday July 30th 2007 the De La Salle Scout Pipe Band left Waterford City by bus and headed for the World Scout Jamboree which was held this year at Hylands Park in the UK. The Band stayed at the Essex Scout County's camp site at Skreens Park and on Tuesday the 31st the band visited the Jamboree site and practiced with six brass bands from the Scout Association of Great Britain and from Holland. At 8 a.m. on Wednesday morning August 1st the bands combined to play at the jamboree sunrise ceremony for the 100th anniversary of the founding of scouting and took a major part in kicking off the day of celebrations around the world. In the afternoon the band went on to play at various venues around the Jamboree site where they created a lot of excitement with swarms of jamboree attendees keen to hear the unique pipe band play and even have their photo taken with them. A selection of photos mostly taken by Tom Casey on the trip are given below.
