The De La Salle Scout Group was founded in 1928 and is based in Waterford City in the southeast of Ireland. It is part of the Waterford Scout County of Scouting Ireland and consists of two Beaver Colonies, three Macaoimh (Cub Scout) Packs, two Scout Troops, a Venture Scout Group, as well as a Scout Pipe Band.

 Phoenix Challenge 2010 Success:  Congratulations to the 3rd and 7th Scout Troops on a phenomenal performance at this year's excellent Phoenix Challenge. Both troops achieved a Gold Standard award. Pictured below are the 3rd and there are more details on our Group News page and lots of photos on our Phoenix 10 Photo Gallery page..  Annual Camp:  : The 3rd Scouts had an excellent Annual Camp at Larch Hill in Dublin. Meanwhile the 7th Scouts and the Waterford City Venturers had a hugely successful camp at Blackwell Court in Birmingham. More details and photos to follow.

 County Challenge Success:  Congratulations to the 7th De La Salle who came second in the Waterford Scout County Challenge which was held in Stradbally from the 23rd-25th April 2010. The 7th also won the Campcraft and Cooking trophies. The 3rd and 7th De La Salle Scout Troops will both go on to represent the Group and the County at the Phoenix Challenge in August.  The De La Salle Scout Pipe Band:  : The De La Salle Scout Group Pipe Band's  75th Anniversary CD is now available for purchase here. At the Munster Solo piping and drumming championships held recently James Stone won the under 14 and under 16 piping solo events and was crowned Munster Champion for 2010. See our Group News page.

 Expeditions:  : Check out our Expeditions page where you can read about a host of expeditions by members of the Group to far flung corners of the globe. The 3rd and 7th were on the Leinster MPC and there are more photos in their Expedition Report. You can also read about a recent completion of the Mourne Wall Walk in Co. Down and the birth of a new walking route in Co. Kerry called The Greater Luioch Horseshoe. Pictured below is the famous Mourne Wall as it descends from Slieve Donard.
